The 1st Ashine International Forum on Floor Technology

On the occasion of Ashine’s 30th anniversary, the 1st Ashine International Forum on Floor Technology was held in Ashine 3rd factory on August 15. Pioneers in the flooring industry, such as Husqvarna, Sika, Mapei, SpecChem, Solomon Colors, Ashine business partners and many other Chinese contractors attended the event.

The focus of the event was to promote the long-term growth of concrete and terrazzo flooring. The flooring industry’s leading speakers presented exclusive insights into the newest developments, challenges and solutions.

Xiaoxin Liu, Chief expert of CFA(China Floor Association ), gave a keynote speech on the two directions of WOCA Awards and high-quality development of the flooring industry. From the contractors’ independent acquisition of raw materials through the material supplier’s provision of total materials. From on-site inspection and acceptance to customer-satisfactory on-site inspection and acceptance. Flatness and floor levelness, wear resistance, and bond strength are all inspection parameters.

Another keynote talk was given by Chaoqun Li, Deputy General Manager of SpecChem (China), on The Development Trend of Integral Cementitious Flooring, that features full polished concrete floors, integral cementitious terrazzo floors, integral seamless floors, and functional mortar concrete floors within the next 10 years. Full polished concrete floors have the following characteristics: synchronized life with concrete, high strength, wear-resistant and dust-proof, consistent color, and no cracks.

Junjian Guo, President of SRS-Shanghai DIANYUE TERRAZZO enterprise, delivered a keynote talk on the Long-term Development of EPOXY Terrazzo Flooring. To promote the healthy development of the EPOXY terrazzo flooring industry, it is necessary to strengthen industry norms and standards, promote technological innovation and research and development, strengthen organization and market supervision, improve employee quality, and pay attention to environmental protection and sustainable development. Only by comprehensively promoting industrial development can the flooring industry achieve healthy, stable, and sustainable growth.

Husqvarna Asia Region Product & Service Manager Harry Chen detailed Husqvarna’s surface preparation machine system, which includes: floor scrapers, shot blasters, steel blasters, floor scarifiers, floor shavers, floor grinders, dust and slurry equipment as well as Husqvarna’s floor solution—Husqvarna Superfloor™.

Richard Deng, President of Ashine Diamond Tools, addressed “Promoting the sustainable development of concrete floor industry”. He  believes the true polishing should be mechanical polishing(grinding and polishing concrete floor step by step with diamond pads) to achieve the high-quality, long-lasting refinement surface rather than fake gloss easily achieved by wax(chemical polishing). The floor surface is well refined, and the DOI(ACI310.1-20 3.2.4) and shine gloss last for a longer time. Reduce the frequency of floor maintenance; reduce the labor intensity of workers; reduce the used pads and waste, and thus reduce the burden of environment; There are no toxic chemicals left behind, making it environmentally friendly and healthy for both employees and consumers; DCOF significantly exceeds 0.42(According to ANSI A317.1 section 9.6), reduce the risks of slippery. Mechanical polishing with right diamond tools can promote the sustainable development of concrete floor industry.
