World of Concrete (WOC) is the annual international event dedicated to the commercial concrete and masonry construction industries. Informa Markets organized this year's world of concrete in Las Vegas Convention Center from January 17th to 20th.
Ashine has participated in the previous World of Concrete Expos. However, due to Covid traveling restrictions, we could not attend the event in person after our last attendance in 2020. Despite being oceans apart, we still manage to keep updated on the event through live reports and social media posts.
This exhibit is the first and largest event in the concrete and masonry construction industries in 2022. More than 1,100 companies have attended this event; 150 of them are first-time attendees, offering participants a wide variety of exhibits from all segments of the construction industry, including Concrete Contractors, Construction Managers, Dealers/Distributors, Decorative Concrete Contractors, Engineers, Rental Equipment Centers, Repair Contractors, Specialty Concrete Contractors, and more.
Many companies in the concrete equipment industry have exhibited in this event, showcasing their latest innovation in the concrete grinding & polishing, and diamond tooling industry, including Husqvarna, Sase, Bartell Global, Concrete Polishing Solutions, Xtreme Polishing System, Superabrasive, Scanmaskin, NSS, etc. Despite their active participation in this event, we have seen both a decrease in numbers and a reduction of sizes of the exhibit booth in WOC, with fewer antecedence from the equipment manufacturers due to Covid travel regulations.
Approximately 37,000 registered professionals attended this event. The high level of engagement also marks the dire need for in-person connections in the industry. Aside from the expo, WOC 2022 also offers more than 11,000 world-class expert-lesson sessions to help attendees overcome challenges and tap into the new technological breakthroughs in the industry. Topics covered in these sessions range from 3D printing in concrete construction, women in construction to waterproofing: the next generation of solutions.
Besides offering business opportunities and education programs, this annual event of World of Concrete also serves as a platform for participants to demonstrate the most up-to-date products and the latest trend in the industry for 2022. Trends for 2022 include:
- Improvement of job site productivity with new battery systems to perform the concrete task.
- Automation in the concrete construction activities: 3D printing, rebar tying, and so forth.
- The appearance of new materials for better contractors' efficiency.
- Streamlined management data management systems.
- Products that would reduce the project’s carbon footprint.
Moreover, the exhibition organizers formalized the event's commitment to sustainability in collaboration with renewable energy partner/sponsor HILTI. There are three major objectives for this program: Inspiring Sustainable Development, Environmental Responsibility, and Social Responsibility–each pledge supporting the event's commitment to shaping the concrete industry for a sustainable future. These objectives align perfectly well with Ashine’s mission: Make floor grinding & polishing efficient, Create an Eco-friendly & Sustainable world.
The engagement from companies of various sizes in WOC 2022 signifies the revival of the trade show and the constant growth of the construction industry. As our world recovers from the global pandemic, all of us at Ashine look forward to returning to WOC 2023 to meet our friends in the industry in person and share our innovation to the concrete grinding and polishing industry
